Welcome to Retiro da Serra, where you can enjoy harmony with nature and the impressive landscape of Serra da Estrela, in an outstanding accomodation with c.200 m2, and all the amenities and comfort.
From our balcony, you can enjoy the magnificent view that stretches from Serra da Gardunha to the Torre (the highest mountain peak in Continental Portugal). We dare say that it is, without a doubt, one of the accommodations with the best views of Penhas da Saúde... Come and see for yourself!
Unique location
Retiro da Serra is located in Penhas da Saúde, at an altitude of .1,570 metres. Penhas da Saúde is the closest town to Torre, the highest point in mainland Portugal, and home to the only ski resort in the country. Several restaurants are within walking distance. We are also located close to the ice rink and the natural pool of Penhas da Saúde. In 15 minutes (by car) you will be in the centre of Covilhã, where you will find all amenities such as supermarkets, pharmacies, hospital, etc. Come and discover everything that Serra da Estrela has to offer!

- A living room on the ground floor with a comfortable sofa, a pellet stove, cable TV, and access to the balcony.
- Downstairs you can also find a large dining table, perfect for dinner with friends and family.
- A double bed is available in the common area upstairs, as well as a single foldable bed.
BATHROOMS
- An en-suite bathroom, on the lower level, equipped with a bathtub, a toilet and a bidet.
- An ensuite bathroom, on the upper level, equipped with a bathtub, a toilet and a bidet.
- A bathroom, on the upper level, equipped with a bathtub, a toilet and a bidet.
- A guest bathroom, on the lower level, with toilet and bidet.
KITCHEN
- A fully equipped kitchen, including Nespresso coffee machine, stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator and freezer, among others.
PARKING
- Private garage box ( please note that the access ramp is very steep, so it may not be suitable for all vehicles).

The landscape of the Serra da Estrela natural park is impressive and worth visiting all year round.
You can always count on hiking along magnificent trails and walkways, fantastic viewpoints, picturesque villages full of history and phenomenal cuisine. In the summer, the natural pools and easily accessible river beaches delight visitors. In the winter, whether there is snow or not, you can also enjoy an ice skating rink. Serra da Estrela, and in particular Torre, has the only ski resort in Portugal.
